city mag is out

i mentioned in an earlier post that i did some modelling for a shoot in an upcoming issue of Adelaide's CityMag.

WELL, the issue is now out. you can get it for free on the streets, on peruse online. here is one image from the shoot. I'm the one on the right in the AA duo.

Art direction and styling: Marie Totsikas
Photography: James Hartley
Assistant: Cimon Vozzo
Models: Aaron Schuppan, JD Foster, Matea Gluscevic, Madeline Reece

sandal prototype

second shoe on the go.

i got some acrylic laser cut. then i stuck it together and ground in the sole shape and front kick. then i drilled in some holes for the straps to attach to. the straps are iridescent lame lined with leather, with eyelets and rope holding it to the acrylic base.
it has no sole yet, and needs a few other modifications, but the idea is out.

change

yesterday i went into town with the intention of getting pink and orange Fudge hair dye to dye my hair.
instead, i saw the Crazy Color lime green and went for it.

first image features my Cakey mask rolled up.

pleased

utility modular bag

next up in made things.

again, this is for sportsromeo. it is a bag with a removable velcro strap that can be attached to other versions of itself or the saddlery belt i made earlier.

old water features

again, some old things.

1. me pretending to be a backstreet boy, bleached tips etc, bellybutton ring as earring, drilled nails, iridescent windbreaker
2. considering the similarities between myself and a preying mantis
3. amusing myself with postcards superimposed on landscapes

SS take 2

a shot from working (styling/costume) on the sparkspitter videoclip a little while ago.
the video is being released TONIGHT!

old hair

some hair styles from before i made the blog.
1. for Donna Romeo; i call this one "life path / pink isn't a feminine colour"
2. for Wes; first we did middle and side cornrows with butterfly temporary tattoos in shaved gaps with red extensions. then a few days later we progressed to all shaved sides and texta southern cross tattoo with temporary tattoo butterflies and brown extensions.

camo

sightings of camo.
1. strawberry fields last year
2. ancient world a few months ago

what

next up.
went to an open inspection of a recently liquidated business (tshirt printing), so they had heaps of stuff lying around. including this plastic pipe, about 30cm high, with this weird cgi print out stuck to it.
i asked the estate agent if i could take it and he said no.
then i asked if i could buy it off him, he said no.
so i will be contacting the previous business owners today to see if we can STRIKE A DEAL FOR THIS CGI TUBE HEAD.

comp #2

i wrote an article for fivethousand about my experiences with the whole sports modelling thing, check it out here >>> article

also, had the second comp on the 17th of may (ANB All Female Spectacular), wasnt as excited for that one but here are some images from Paul France Photography, watermark and all that, buy them if you want???!?! HA

buy, keep on, go on

goodwill on hindley never disappoints. they are consistently cheap and always have at least five things i'd MAYBE buy, which for an opshop, or any shop, is quite good really.
last visit i got this fantastic chinese(?) print top, which has the all too popular early 2000's neckline, and y'know what, some pretty great proportional darting through the waist and bust. impressed. 9.5/10
also got the mother of pearl necklace for a DOLLAAAAAAAA.

street style #5

saw ang on the street, THE LEIGH STREET, a few days ago. quite appreciative of several factors; small nut/bolt neclace, mother of pearl buttons on light blue stripe shirt, small dot tattoo on right arm, lack of handbag.

high five

access the STREETS

1. a hat i bought from china town. so many features. brim, legionnaires flap, snap button closure, under chin tie.
2. ol pal Eric Price (aka Gustav Lem) doing some good socking. appreciable colour handling with pants and shoes. 8.5/10

strap up

also made this belt. it's quite long, and can be worn either once round the waist with a real long dangly bit, or twice round the waist.
made of PVC, hallmark wrapping paper and saddlery buckle.
the funny saddlery buckle that has a clip attached means you can clip things to it. LIKE KEYS. OR USBS.

STAY ACTIVE

so those shoes i started; here they are! finished! first pair for sportsromeo ;)

comp #1 - inba

as ive mentioned earlier in this blog somewhere, i've been training for the last few months to be in two bodybuilding competitions (bikini category). the day finally came, and last weekend was the first comp. i lightly documented the day and present you with the run through.
next weekend is the second and final comp ill be entering this season so there will be pics then too.

saturday night (night before) :  got my hair cornrowed by Jackie at Miss Coiffure and then added in my own extensions.

left : specific comp day breakfast, no water allowed, trying to have as little fluid under the skin as possible, so breakfast is toasted oats with honey. right : backstage outfit, loose so that it doesnt rub the really greasy tan off, and thongs for the same reason

food prep for the day : rice cakes and peanut butter eaten when instructed by trainer, depending on how bloated/defined you are looking, 3x 100g chicken, 150g green veg, 50g sweet potato, 2x 100g chicken, 50g sweet potato

miscellaneous items : suntan on - a really mental dark stain tan that is applied 3 times in total over a spray tan, sportsgirl body glow shimmer stuff, evo hair gel to keep my cornrows neat, chux wipes and gloves for applying and removing the tans, extra extensions and hair clip to keep hair off tan while getting ready, baby oil to remove greasy final tan, supertan - the crazy greasy final tan, competitor numbers, entry pass

all tans applied; one spray tan, 3 suntan on stains, one supertan application

makeup done, comp nails, and stained hair from touching my tanned back

before heading to the comps we had a muscle sorority photoshoot, on the left is carley and a little screen shot of me on the right

lineup in the bikini open division, im third from left

posing

posing

backstage shot, feedback from the judges, participation medals and tim tams. i cried cos i didnt place at all, hence the white line running through my makeup, but it was ok cos the feedback makes sense and i got tim tams!

kai greene

Kai Greene is a bodybuilding weirdo; he's known for his posing routines which are more like dancing choreographies and he wears some pretty great costumes. take for example this silver sarong thing with silver face mask and toggle adjustable bucket hat. phenomenal. off planet. superior.
he also wears a mask in a lot of his performances and often has his hair up in a long rope like braid thing; which was pointed out to me is quite similar in some aesthetic manner to when i have my hair in a long rope like braid and Cakey mask.

Kai. Idol.

RUBBER BANDS ARE THE FUTURE

rubber bands, rope and tape are my three most favourite things ever. in all circumstances. even with hair. here is some stuff from a little while ago, little rubber bands in me hair.

THEN i came across this pinterest thing of little girls hair styles and i was like WHAT? WHY ARE THEY LITTLE GIRL HAIRSTYLES, THEYRE AMAZING.

saw this man on the street today sporting a pretty interesting get up; fluoro orange socks going all the way into his checked weirdo board shorts with a baby pink oversized shirt. he was also wearing a gold watch and a huge jade bracelet.
also got my nails done in prep for sunday.
